    Private J. R. PORTER, of Dunsby.
    Mr. and Mrs. R. Porter, of Dunsby, received a letter from the sergeant of their son’s regiment (the Lincolns) reporting him to be missing, on Aug. 4th.  He gave him an excellent character for courage and bravery.  He expressed the hope that he should have better news to report later, but on Aug. 5th a letter from the War Office stated with regret that he had been killed in action.  Much sympathy is felt for his family in Dunsby.

    DUNSBY
    ROLL OF HONOUR – Mr. and Mrs. R. Porter have received a letter from the War Office stating, with regret, that their son, Pte. John Robert Porter, Lincs. Regt., has beenkilled in action.  The deceased was in his 21st year.  Much sympathy is felt for the family.
